Do you really want to be famous?

The question is, “do you REALLY want to be famous?”  Before you answer this question, lets consider the life of famous people.  The first person I would like to mention is Michael Jackson.

O’ my Lord, how people praised and adored him.  He was one of the most talked about little boys from the Jackson 5.  The world was looking at this family in awe and adoration.  People even ignored the personal things that were going on inside his home and life for the sake of creating a star.  This young boy lived his life to please his family and the world as he knew it.  I mean he even went to the extent of changing his outward appearance to cover up the inward pain.  He spent an unknown amount of money to change his external only to realize that the pain he would face from the people that once praise him would be unbearable.  This young boy that people from around the world once praised, became a man that people wanted to destroy.

Do you really want to be famous.  I mean, Michael had a hard time finding someone who would love him for him and not for what they could get.  The burden of being famous caused this man’s death.  You don’t believe it?

Look at Bobbi Kristina.  This poor child is clinging to life and people are still speaking negative about her.  You want to be famous?  Do you want to spend the rest of your life trying to entertain people who will praise you one minute and yell “crucify him/her” the next. This innocent child who happened to be born to a mother and father that were famous.  I heard someone say, “she didn’t have a chance from birth.”  She meaning Bobbi Kristina.  Why didn’t she have a chance?  She didn’t have a chance because the timing of her birth was during the fall of her parents.  You know her parents, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.  Two individuals who never once portrayed themselves as being perfect.  They were two individuals who fell in love and got caught up in a life of drugs.  You know her parents. I mean they are in our families and live in our neighborhoods.  The only difference is everybody knows their names.  Do you really want to be famous.  They had no privacy always trying to hide from paparazzi.  When you are famous you have people who genuinely love you and then you have those that are trying to find something wrong with you.  When you are famous, people like the idea of you but not the real you.  They like the actor you, the singer you, the author you, the football player you and the basketball player you, but when they find the you that’s just like them, they can’t deal with it.  After all, being famous places standards on you that your gifting or talent will never be able to reach.  Underneath all the talent and everybody knowing your name, you still have to deal with the pains of life that no one would ever understand.  They won’t understand because in their minds being famous comes with a lot of money and money is power and power should bring happiness.

Do you really want to be famous?  Do you want to live with no privacy? Consider this:The paparazzi is there even when you don’t want them to be.  I mean they are at funerals, hospitals, courtrooms and lurking in your back yard.

Do you really want to be famous?  Before you answer this question please consider your entire life being uncovered.  I mean children who don’t love you, family members that’s waiting to tell the family secrets as soon as they get an opportunity.  Bobbi Kristina is in the hospital fighting for her life and the family just lost her mother from a senseless death and people continue to speak negative about her, her mother and her father.  I can only imagine the pain that Bobby Brown is dealing with.  He has to cope with the mistakes from his past.  Living a changed life while trying to escape the pain of his past.  When you are famous it’s hard to move on.  It appears as if once you mess up there’s no redemption.

Can you stand to be famous?

People if you want to be famous, can you practice now how you would want someone to treatment you and respect the fact that no one is saying they’re perfect.  Famous people are simply saying, “I have a gift.”  Please respect the humanness of the people we see on television and before you utter a negative word, remember they are human too.

I want to be famous….And I’m so grateful that my forgiveness doesn’t rest in the hands of men….

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound..

As I began to think about words of encouragement I could share with you today.  I thought about my journey and how it relates to the “little engine that could.”  In life we will face many trails of various kinds. Be it misunderstandings from people around us, to our names being in people’s mouths for no other reason but to speak negative, sickness, death and the like…

(I’ve learned the cost) There has been times that I wanted to give up because life seemed so hard.  I mean I have endured some rough seasons fighting against the desire to give up and return to my old way of handling things. As I look over me life now, I’m glad that I didn’t give up.  I’m glad that I encouraged myself when no one else was willing to encourage me.  I went from “I think I can” to “I know I can”.  I know I can make it through the storm, I know I will prosper in the rain.  I know I can, I know I can.

The price that was paid to get where I am today was costly and I’m not going to let anyone or anything turn me around.  Trials come as they may, but I’ve decided to stay in the race.  I’m not turning around and I’m not going to quit.  I have my armor on and I’m ready for war…Come on devil, you and your mother in-law…I know I have the victory and the devil is already defeated…

For 2015, let this be your 4 letter word that you will tell yourself.  “I KNOW I CAN” “I KNOW I CAN!”

When depression creeps in, “I KNOW I CAN” overcome this spirit

When money is low, “I KNOW I CAN” hold on until God makes a way

When life’s challenges come at you from different directions, “I KNOW I CAN” do ALL things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me….

I have a lot of things on my “bucket list” this year and I’m not thinking I can, I KNOW I CAN and I KNOW I WILL  through JESUS CHRIST MY LORD….

We have a battle to fight and a legacy to leave behind.  Losers never win and winners never quit…

Those who don’t care, don’t matter

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Once Upon a Time.”

Last week I noticed a young lady getting irritated and looking as if she wanted to give up on life.  She worked so hard to gain a better understanding of her purpose and mission in life.  She thought, “if only I knew the purpose for which I was created, my life would have meaning.”  She began to write, pray and search for that which she believe would make life worth living.  Finally she found her purpose and mission for living but unfortunately it came with a price.  She didn’t realize that finding her true purpose would cause her to lose some people that she valued and held in such high esteem.  She didn’t realize that finding her purpose would cause her to feel lonely.  After all she wanted those that was close to her to join in the celebration of her new found purpose.  This young lady sat in confusion wondering how all that she had hoped for and longed for would only be celebrated by a select few.  I walked over to this young lady who had her head down in confusion and told her, “those who don’t celebrate you, don’t matter and those who are visible are not always valuable.  Look at the big picture and recognized that you have found what others search a life time to find.”  In pure amazement she looked up with a smile on her face and said, “I found who I was created to be and I have been made free and nothing else matters.”  This young lady made a decision to live her life on purpose and when she became overwhelmed she simply remembered, “those who don’t care, don’t matter.”

LaShanna Alfred: Facing Down Adversity and Helping Others Do the Same

Proof that you can overcome anything with focused determination. Thanks to the team at Career 2.0

Career 2.0

2014112795161105Often at Career 2.0, we write of women who have left one successful career to start a new one or perhaps launch a creative enterprise midway through a career.

This story is a little different.

LaShanna Alfred’s first “career” involved running and selling drugs and time spent in jail. She didn’t leave a successful career in order to find fulfillment, she left a life filled with tragedy and hardship, a life that many of us would have been unable to find a way out of. But Alfred did find a way.

Alfred was only two years old when her mother was murdered. Her mother was, as Alfred puts it, “basically in the wrong place with the wrong people.” About four years later, when she was in second grade, her father was in a fight and stabbed to death. An only child, Alfred went to live with her grandmother and uncles. When…

Dove’s Eyes

In this season you may have heard throughout Christendom that 2015 is the season of expectation and favor times 3.  We are believing God to do the miraculous in our lives and our ministries.  We are overwhelmed with excitement and believe nothing will be able to stop us. Right when we think all is well and we are on our way to where God would have us to be, we encounter closed doors after closed doors.  We get a bad report from the doctor and our children begin to act up.  In this season those whom you thought would be by your side have turned and walked away from you.  Those you thought would be your greatest supporters don’t even say congratulations; they don’t even mention your name.  You feel alone and begin to question, “is this really the season of expectation, is God really going to do what he promised this time?”  Questions of doubt rolls over and over in your mind  as you fight away the feeling to give up and call it quits.  Today my friend, God interrupted my day to tell you, what He has promised will surely come to pass.  I pray that God gives you Dove’s Eyes.  No more distractions and no more doubts, keep your eyes and heart focused on what God promised you and watch God bring it to pass.  With or without them…Be blessed

“There is a remnant God has assigned to assist you with the vision”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Daring Do.”

How I rescued my friend out of a drug infested house.  My friend has history of addiction and one day she relapsed.  One of her children called me to inform me that their mother was in a drug house and would not come out.  myself and another friend went to the house where our friend was and demanded that the drug dealer let her out of the house.  I know this was a dangerous situation but my friend and her children were at stake.  My friend had lost years being away from her children due to her addiction and she was finally reunited with them and I wasn’t about to let one night of weakness cause her to lose her family again.  My friend came out of the drug house, went back home with her children and she has been free from drugs ever since and it has been 8 years. A little sacrifice can change someone’s life. Daring Do!!!

Don’t give up

This 4th day of January 2015 is a day for us to make up our minds that we are going to accomplish everything that God has for us to accomplish in 2015. Today sets us up for the work week ahead and we must be prepared to face it head on.  We have been equipped to handle whatever comes our way.  The fact that we made in through 2014 says that there is more in store for us. Keep your head up, don’t give up and the sky is not even the limit. God is going to open up the window of heaven and pour out blessings we won’t have room to receive. Hold on to the promise and the hope that is within you and know that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

My brothers and sisters, this is our year of victory.  Declare it, believe it and walk in it.  All that this year has to offer will be yours.

2014 was a set up to get you here.

Don’t Give up.

Enjoy the journey and take time to smell the roses.

Are you really Mary Jane

Being Mary Jane has become one of the talked about television shows in 2014. This show features Gabrielle Union now Wade as a successful single woman who provides for her family while feeling empty because she does not have a man. Wow, episode 1 and 2 was riveting and kept me in suspense of what was going to happen next. All to often women find themselves compromising and going against their true values in the name of love. We find ourselves going against everything we believe in for a one night stand or the thought of being excited in bed. We open up our homes, our hearts and our legs for someone who has no intentions on giving us anything in return. Wait there are some things we tend to get in return for giving all we have to someone; we get a wet bed, a dry bank account and a broken heart. Whose fault is it anyway when we find ourselves left alone and ashamed? It’s ours of course. No one puts a gun to our head and force us to “FALL” in love with a nobody. I mean a nobody that happens to be somebody else’s. Are you really Mary Jane? Do you really want to be left broken-hearted and ashamed? Do you believe you deserve better? Well stop settling for less and “take your M.A.N. back.” this is a book I’ve published for women who are struggling with mistakes and hurt from their past. You can survive and thrive. It’s time to live.
